6 Best Ways to Lose Weight Fast

Keep Track: One of the best ways to lose weight fast is to start tracking what you are doing to lose weight. Start keeping a daily journal of everything you eat, how much you are moving, how you are feeling, how much you weight each week, and what problems you are encountering. Keeping track is a great way to be sure you stay on track.

Eat More: Eat more? Yes! Eat more of the right foods, that is. When you are following a high quality, low calorie diet chances are you’ll find yourself eating a lot more foods with low calories but high bulk (like vegetables, beans, and certain fruits) and less foods that pack a lot of calories and fat into a small portion, like fast food.

Avoid Fad Diets: There are many fad diets that promise to help you lose weight fast but beware. Fad diets trigger the body’s starvation response which means you’ll lose muscle and water instead of fat and slow down your metabolism making losing and keeping weight off even harder. So avoid the temptation to look for a quick weight loss solution that will only fail you over the long haul.

Move More: Did you know you can burn hundreds more calories a day without every working out? It’s true! Aim to slip in more movement whenever you can and watch how easily the burned calories add up. For instance, park a block away from work instead of in the closest spot. Carry your groceries in one bag at a time. Stand or pace while talking on the phone instead of sitting. It all adds up to faster weight loss.

Drink More Water: Exchange your usual beverages for water and watch the weight come off fast. Milk, coffee, fruit juice, soda, diet pop, alcoholic beverages, and even flavored seltzer water can lead to increased hunger, cravings, or just add extra calories you don’t need. Pure, plain water should be your beverage of choice if you want to lose weight quickly.
