Admit it. You’re guilty of engaging in this kind of ???fat talk??? at some point. A study published in Psychology of Women Quarterly found 93 percent of women confessed to speaking negatively about the shape and size of their bodies. One-third admitted to doing it frequently.

Can You Exercise Too Much?

exercise too muchYou may have heard of a recent British study that asked the question, ???Can you exercise too much???? It???s an interesting topic and ??? like anything else ??? yes, it appears even exercise, when taken to the extreme, can be too much of a good thing.

In the study. researchers found that super-athletic men in their 50s who had exercised strenuously all their lives (we???re talking about former Olympic athletes and ultra-marathon types) actually seemed to have heart damage as a result.

Can Losing Weight Boost Your Mood?

mood and weightA new study that examined the connection between weight loss and mood discovered that when people were following a program where they were eating right and getting more exercise, they reported that they felt better, too.

The results don???t surprise me ??? it???s something I???ve seen in my patients time and again. As the excess pounds start to come off, they walk into my office with a renewed spring in their step and a big smile on their face.

Do You Live in The Diabetes Belt?

diabetes beltIf you live in the Southeastern part of the United States, you’re smack in the middle of what experts from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have just dubbed The Diabetes Belt.

Researchers recently came up with the title after reviewing the rates of type 2 diabetes from across the United States. The results showed about 12 percent of those living in The Diabetes Belt had the illness, compared to the average of 8.5 percent nationwide.
